# PenaltyReason

> Why a penalty exists.

One member, because the platform charges one kind. The field is published rather
than left off so that "why do I owe this?" has an answer you can branch on, and so
a second kind — if there is ever one — arrives as a value rather than as a new
field.

## In Maat

The published set is exactly Maat's own `DeveloperPenaltyReason`. A member added to one and not the other fails our build.
